I can see clearly now—lucite and acrylic furniture
Lucite furniture, often referred to as plexi-glass or acrylic, has been popular ever since it was introduced to the design world in the 1950’s. When Philippe Starck introduced his now iconic “ghost chair” in 2002 the trend was set. Today’s collection of lucite furniture includes tables, stools, bookshelves; even a dresser that is completely see-through. You better be organized to use that one! Many of these items are now available in tinted colors that give it an edge.
Burlap–Not just for potatoes
For some reason this scratchy and earthy fabric is popping up everywhere. Beautiful pillows, lampshades, ottomans, picture frames and other accessories are all wearing burlap. It is renewable and reusable to satisfy your eco-consciousness and will certainly add texture and interest to any room in your home
What’s in a name?—Monograms
There is something so personal and sophisticated about a monogram and the design world has figured that out. Monograms are appearing on pillowcases, luggage, glassware, linens, throw pillows, wall art; you name it there is a monogram on it. Add a monogram to your home décor and don’t worry about it appearing out of style next year. Monograms have been around a long time and they are here to stay.
You can easily update your home and have fun without breaking the bank by adding one of these small but trendy items to your home décor.
