We understand the effort and investment you have made in traveling to purchase furniture from us, and ensuring your furniture arrives safely to your door is our top priority. Our showrooms coordinate with their trusted delivery partners to guarantee professional and secure transportation of your furniture to your home. To make this process as seamless as possible, here is everything you need to know about the shipping services offered at Hickory Furniture Mart.
Understanding Shipping Charges
All shipping charges are separate from your furniture purchases, and our showrooms will be able to provide you with an estimate of these shipping charges before you leave the Mart. The exact total will be confirmed by the delivery company once they pick up your furniture, take it back to their warehouse, repack it, and weigh it. These final shipping charges are based on the total weight of your order and the final destination's zip code.
Consolidated Shipping Services
For your convenience, we offer the option to consolidate any furniture purchases made from multiple showrooms into one streamlined delivery. If you would like to take advantage of this service, simply ensure all orders are placed under the same name and fill out a "Request for Consolidation of Merchandise" form, which may be found at every guest services reception desk, located at our main entrances or inside each showroom. Submit your completed form to the showroom where you made the majority of your purchases from during your visit.
Estimated Delivery Times
Your estimated delivery time will start only after all account balances have been paid in full to all showrooms, all furniture has been released by each showroom, and all furniture is picked up by the assigned delivery company. The shipping company will then weigh, inspect and repack your furniture and the estimated time frames will then begin as shown below:
- Southeast: 2-3 weeks
- East Coast: 2-4 weeks
- Midwest: 4-6 weeks
- West Coast 6-9 weeks (Please note: Post-COVID, limited delivery options are currently available for West Coast customers due to delivery company shortages servicing the area. Please discuss all shipping options that are available with our showrooms in advance.)
Preparing for Your Delivery
You will receive a call at least 48 hours before your scheduled delivery to notify you. During this call, confirm your ship-to address and that the shipment includes all of your purchased furniture. To ensure a seamless delivery experience, notify the delivery company of anything that may affect the delivery of your items (e.g. narrow driveways, security codes, limited access hours, etc), and clear all necessary space in your home for the unloading and placement of your new items.
Delivery Payment & Inspection
When calling to schedule your delivery date, the delivery company will also provide your total shipping cost and accepted methods of payment. Please note that full payment is required before any merchandise is unloaded off the truck. Payments may be accepted in advance via credit card on the delivery company's website, or on the day of your delivery with cash or a certified money order.
As items are unloaded and unwrapped, you must carefully inspect each piece for any damages. If damages or issues arise during this process, you must refuse the damaged item inside your home with the delivery person, ask them to notate the damage on your bill of lading form, and contact the delivery company and the showroom where you purchased your furniture immediately to discuss next steps.
