Q. Why do we need to register? Is my information sold?
A. We ask that all of our visitors register with us before shopping. Once you register, you will be able to receive valuable information about upcoming sales events and special promotions at Hickory Furniture Mart. This information also helps the marketing department understand where our visitors are coming from and how they heard about us through our advertising efforts. We protect our customers and our database and never sell this information to any outside agencies.
Q. Do you offer designer discounts?
A. Yes - Several stores offer special discounts and incentive programs for designers. Proper credentials must be shown in order to receive these discounts. You may ask our guest services representatives for a listing of current programs available and check with each showroom for specific details. Many of our outlets are not able to participate in this program since most of their inventory is already priced to move off the floor, however some of our outlets are able to offer discounts on high volume buys placed by designers. Please check with each showroom and outlet for more details.
Q. Is the furniture discounted?
A. Yes - Various discounts are offered throughout the Mart. Discounts are different for each retailer. Most factory outlets often offer up to an additional 50-70% off the MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) and most showrooms have clearance items, which they sell off the floor and constantly rotate to make room for their new inventory. There are also additional discounts during the Mart’s special sale events and each retailer offers specific promotions inside their individual showrooms at various times throughout the year.
Q. Is it worth the trip?
A.Yes - Hickory Furniture Mart houses over 100 factory outlets, custom order stores and dedicated manufacturers' galleries, representing over 1,000 premier brands, all located under one roof. The Mart has a strong reputation for quality, value and service. Discounts vary and many showrooms offer 65-80% off most standard retail prices. Consolidated shipping services are also available inside each showroom. We are definitely worth the trip!
Q. Is design assistance available?
A.Yes - Many of the showrooms within the Mart offer complimentary professional design and decorating assistance. Designing Women, located on Level 3 offers private professional interior design services by appointment. You may contact Sally Bentley (Designing Women) by phone (828) 234-9789 or via web www.designingwomenofnc.com to schedule a consultation based on your individual needs. Walk-ins are welcome and accommodated if designer schedules are open.
Q. Do you provide shuttle service from the Charlotte, Greensboro or Hickory airports?
A.Unfortunately The Mart does not offer shuttle service to and from the surrounding major airports. You may contact each airport for information on transportation services available in their area. We are happy to provide suggestions of local shuttle services in our area. The Hickory Hop is an airport shuttle from Hickory to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. You may view their schedule by visiting, www.hickoryhop.com. If you have additional questions about shuttle services, one of our guest services representatives would be happy to help assist you.
Q. Do you offer discounts on hotel accommodations?
A.Yes - Hickory Furniture Mart partners with several local hotels (Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express-Hickory, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, Best Western, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites-Conover) to offer special Shop & Stay packages for furniture shoppers visiting North Carolina. One of our guest services representatives would be happy to make your hotel reservation or answer any additional questions you may have regarding the Shop & Stay program.
Q. What types of payment options are offered? Do you accept major credit cards?
A. Most stores accept personal checks, including out-of-state checks and most showrooms also accept major credit cards and some offer financing options. Please ask your sales associate for more details.
Q. Do you ship out-of-state?
A. Yes - We are able to arrange shipment of your furniture to anywhere in the world. Each showroom will work together to help you coordinate your consolidated shipping needs before you even leave the Mart.
Q. Is the Mart handicap accessible? Do you have wheelchairs or motorized carts available?
A. Yes - Hickory Furniture Mart is handicap accessible. Manual wheelchairs are available upon request for all of our guests. You may inquire at any guest services desk. The south entrance is the best place to enter if you are using a wheelchair or motorized cart, because there are no stairs at this entrance and there is a convenient elevator located right next to the door. You will also find convenient parking spaces specially designated for handicap parking at the south entrance. Unfortunately motorized cart rental is currently not available at the Mart.
Q. Are strollers welcome? Do you provide them if needed?
A. Yes - Visitors are welcome to bring their personal strollers to the Mart. Unfortunately stroller rental is currently not available at the Mart.
Q. Is the Mart child friendly? Do you have a play area for children?
A. Yes - The Mart is child friendly, however we do ask that parents closely supervise their children while they are here. Please make sure that food and beverage is not brought into the showrooms and be mindful of fragile objects throughout the display areas. The Mart currently does not have a specially designated play area for children; however for your convenience we do offer a list of area children’s activities which are close by the Mart. This list is available at all of our main entrance desks and online here.
Q. Do you allow pets?
A. Service animals of all sizes are welcome to accompany their owners. Due to allergies, each showroom has the right to incorporate their own pet policy. The Crowne Plaza and Best Western are both pet friendly and offers special room rates to furniture shoppers so that your pet may be as comfortable as possible while you enjoy your time shopping.
Q. Do you have a restaurant on-site?
A. Yes, The Wooden Spool Café is located on Level 2 and offers a nice variety of hot and cold gourmet sandwiches, salads and homemade soups. In addition they offer fabulous daily specials. If you are looking for specialty coffees, cold or hot beverages or a quick snack to help get you through the day, check out Taste Full Beans, located on Level 1. They also offer wireless internet access for your convenience.
Q. What off-site restaurants would you recommend in the area?
A. Hickory has several restaurants in the area. Whether you are looking for a chain or something with a little more local flare, our guest services representatives would be happy to provide you with a listing of area favorites along with directions on how to get there.
Q. Do you have ample parking space?
A.Yes - We have plenty of parking spaces available including handicap parking and special designated areas for self-contained motor homes, rental trucks and tour buses.
Q. Do you offer any special discounts for hurricane victims?
A.Yes - Several of our showrooms offer special discounts on furniture and/or shipping for victims of all natural disasters, who are attempting to rebuild their lives and their homes. You may ask our guest services representatives for a listing of current programs available and check with each showroom for specific details.
Q. Do you have personal shoppers that can help us through the Mart?
A. Yes - The Mart offers a personal shopper program designed for those who need to furnish an entire home in a short period of time. Q. Are you open to the public?
A. Yes, we are open to the public and anyone is welcome to visit the Mart and take advantage of the discounts available throughout the various showrooms. During its inception, Hickory Furniture Mart was only open twice a year to wholesale buyers. After several manufacturers transferred their showrooms to Highpoint, NC, the Mart transitioned into a retail complex, which today houses 100 factory outlets, custom order stores and manufacturers’ galleries. The Mart is open to the public Monday - Saturday, 9am - 6pm and four Sundays from 12p –5pm a year during our special sale event weekends.
Q. Do you offer group tours? Is there a cost for these tours?
A.Yes - Mart tours are available throughout the year. You may contact Tracey at (828) 322-4825, Ext. 8307 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a tour for your group. There is no charge for these tours. Tour members will receive a welcome bag, a tour of the Mart and a brief presentation about the Mart with information on current industry trends.
