Designing Women

Designing Women is an established and reputable full-service residential and commercial professional interior design firm that has been in business since 1984. They have introduced their award winning design services to clients from all over the world. Based inside Hickory Furniture Mart, Designing Women has worked with customers from California to Dubai. Their team has provided dedicated design services to countless individuals looking for premium quality furniture at affordable North Carolina prices.

Designing Women has exclusive access to over 23 acres of furniture. They have very strong relationships with our furniture retail stores within the building and our local furniture community. Because of this, they have thousands of resources available at their fingertips, including indoor and outdoor fine furniture, accessories, new, antique and semi-antique rugs, designer fabrics, window treatments, and indoor and outdoor lighting. They also have partnerships with custom cabinetry and flooring specialists and several other vendors within the home furnishings industry.

They prefer to discuss lifestyle, function and budget right up front. Budget is always very important because it allows them to decide where they need to take you throughout the building based on your preferred look and recommended price point. Whether you have blueprints or a hand drawn sketch, they will make your dream home come to life. Their goal is to create a space that is an extension of your personality. Furniture Showroom Designers

Most of our furniture showrooms have designers on staff and their services are complimentary; however they usually only work within their specific showrooms. They are more than happy to assist you in answering any design questions you may have about your room layouts in addition to all of their product options and any additional custom design features they may offer. In fact, many of our manufacturers provide in-depth training on a regular basis for all of their current furniture showroom designers and sales associates. And many showroom designers will work collectively with the designers in our other furniture showrooms to help you find exactly what you need. The design associates in this building are all extremely knowledgeable and will graciously offer up their expertise to help you with any of your design needs.

Personal Shopper Services

Hickory Furniture Mart offers a personal shopper service for new home owners looking to furnish two or more rooms during the same visit. Our personal shopper has been assisting our customers for over 15 years and will help guide you through the Mart efficiently while showing you all the different options available for the items on your list. She will also help you coordinate shipping your purchases directly to your home. Appointments must be made in advance, prior to your arrival, especially during major sale events.
