Interior Design Made Easy

It’s the age-old conundrum. You just bought a new house (or are re-decorating the old one), and you realize: I don’t even know where to start. Fortunately, we’ve gone through this once or twice, and have a few tricks up our sleeve on our blog to help you get started.

A few general shopping tips that we shared earlier this week were to shop room-by-room, to shop according to lifestyle (i.e. don’t buy silk duvets if you own a cat), and to be open to mixing and matching furniture styles to create that personal and unique space for your home.

While we hope this set you in the right direction, we appreciate that a few more details may be helpful.

First, we recommend perusing our website and familiarizing yourself with our manufacturers showcasing some of the world’s finest furniture, bedding, accessories, oriental rugs and artwork. Our manufacturers represent the industry’s most respected companies and those known for high quality and expert craftsmanship. To help simplify your search, utilize our “Quick Search” feature located on the top-right side of the page. This feature allows you to navigate our extensive showrooms and galleries by style (i.e., traditional, transitional, country, contemporary) or by room (i.e., living room, kitchen, home theater, outdoor, youth). Need a sofa for your living room? Just click living room, and you’ll enjoy a laundry list of showrooms to choose from.

Second, you can also explore our specialized Buying Guide you can read it in its entirety online, or we’re happy to send it in the mail. Simply call us or fill out our online request form to receive a free copy of the latest edition of our Buying Guide. Here we offer a variety of interesting articles as well as profile some of our manufacturers’ best collections, providing insight and advice on design layouts and piece-matching.

Lastly, we encourage the more ambitious shoppers out there to experiment with our new Room Planner feature. This is an interactive design tool that allows you to take a bird’s eye view of the rooms in your home and plot out how best to utilize your space. You can use pre-designed floor plan templates, or take it a step further and create unique rooms using the exact measurements and specifications from your home. After creating your new design plan, bring it in and we’ll help you find everything you need to reflect it!
