When you start the process of shopping for a quality rug for your home or business, it is very important to bring the following items with you; floor plans, room dimensions, pictures of your room, fabric samples, paint swatches, flooring type and color. Our showrooms offer a vast selection of rugs to choose from in all different shapes, sizes, colors and styles.
People often wonder what size rug is best to use in each room. It really depends on the size of your open space, your furniture, and ultimately your own personal preference. As a general rule, with a dining room setting, most rug professionals will suggest that you select at least an 8 X 10 rug for a table that does not include any leaves and is accompanied by six chairs. Adding one table leaf and eight chairs may require a 9 X 12 rug and by adding two table leaves and ten chairs you should choose a 10 X 14 rug. The table and all of its chairs should sit completely on the rug with the chairs pushed in or pulled out. In a living room setting, the front legs of your sofa or sectional should sit at the edge of your rug. You do not want to cover up your rug with furniture since it should remain the focal point in your room that helps pull everything together.
When caring for your rug, do not be afraid to vacuum it. Try to stay away from the fringes when possible. The absolute best way to spot clean your rug is to use mild liquid soap and cold water. Mix the mild liquid soap and the cold water together and spot clean the areas which need to be treated with the foam.
If you have any questions when caring for your current rug or selecting a new rug, it is always best to contact a reputable and trustworthy rug expert for their advice.
