In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our entire Western NC and foothills community faces substantial challenges. Homes have been damaged or destroyed and many in our community are displaced, but our resolve remains strong. Hickory Furniture Mart stands united with other local businesses and organizations in our commitment to support our regional community as we collectively work to recover and rebuild.<\/span><\/p>\n

Local Support & Solidarity<\/b><\/p>\n

North Carolina\u2019s sense of community is its strength, shown now more than ever. Leaders across the local furniture industry have joined forces in relief efforts, highlighting our tight-knit furniture family. Along with Hickory Furniture Mart, leaders from several local furniture manufacturers, including Century Furniture, Craftmaster Furniture, Sherrill Furniture, and Wesley Hall, in addition to many others, have expressed a commitment to actively support ongoing recovery efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Centralized Relief Efforts<\/b><\/p>\n

In response to the numerous inquiries we have received from our tenants and our customers\u00a0 on how they are able to contribute to relief efforts, we have taken steps to centralize our support efforts. The Mart has become a collection point for donations from our tenants, customers, and the broader community. These contributions are being coordinated by our point of contact at Century Furniture, who is diligently working to make sure donations reach the most affected areas through a network of emergency agencies operating out of Old Fort, NC.<\/span><\/p>\n

How You Can Help<\/b><\/p>\n

The needs of our community continue to evolve daily; currently there is an urgent need for essential items like insulin and baby formula and necessities such as adult diapers for local nursing homes struggling with these shortages. Other accepted items include hygiene products, non-perishable foods, basic toiletries, and more. Our team has established secure collection points at both the North and South entrance desks of the Mart to streamline contributions and ensure that every donation is safely organized and distributed directly to those in need.<\/span><\/p>\n
