There is so much that goes into the production of a good, high-quality fabric. \u00a0The furniture industry uses the term \u201cdouble rubs\u201d to describe how a fabric will hold up.\u00a0 25,000 double rubs is considered a nice heavy duty fabric and is recommended for pieces that will be used daily by families, especially with young children.<\/p>\n

When looking at fabric, you should also consider the make-up of the material you are using. Some will tend to be more expensive than others.\u00a0 For instance, particular wool is only sheared from sheep once every three years.\u00a0 You probably have also noticed that silks tend to be more expensive.\u00a0 This is because silk is obtained from the silkworm and there is a long and labor intensive process involved in its collection.<\/p>\n

Combining different fabrics with different styles and textures is something that is really popular this year.\u00a0 Traditional fabrics and prints mixed with antique and modern furniture pieces create very unique statements throughout your home.\u00a0 Pastels of the 80\u2019s are also making their way back into fabrics, especially in pale pinks, soft oranges and soothing blues and greens.\u00a0 And our beloved animal prints are not going away anytime soon.\u00a0 People just love them and we continue to see these designs being incorporated into fabrics and fashion of all shapes and sizes in new and creative ways.<\/p>\n

Adding a little bit of \u201cglitz and glamour\u201d to your bedding, pillows and window treatments, just by embellishing them with some of your favorite beads, crystals or sequins is a fun way to reveal your personal sense of sophistication and style.\u00a0 A little bit of \u201cjewelry\u201d goes a long way.<\/p>\n
