Pets are a very important part of many families but unfortunately they sometimes don\u2019t mix well with brand new furniture. \u201cIf a house doesn\u2019t work with pets, it won\u2019t work with children or guests, either\u201d says Julia Szabo, pet columnist from the New York Post and author of Animal House Style: \u00a0Designing a Home to Share With Your Pets. \u00a0(www.animalhousestyle.com<\/a>) <\/strong><\/p>\n

Consider slipcovers. <\/strong>Denim or twill to protect more expensive upholstered pieces. \u00a0Customers often order more than one slipcover so that one may be washed, while the other is being used.<\/p>\n

Bathing pets frequently<\/strong> and regular grooming helps a lot too. \u00a0Groomed animals shed less and clipped claws can\u2019t scratch as much. \u00a0It\u2019s easier to groom your pet than to clean your upholstery.<\/p>\n

Vacuum furniture often<\/strong>\u2014every few days, if possible. \u00a0Pet hair has an odor and some dog hair has oil that can attract soil to your furniture.<\/p>\n

You could also consider cozy pet beds <\/strong>by <\/strong>Uttermost<\/a>, so your pet has it’s own place to relax.<\/p>\n
