Q. We purchased a sofa, wing chair and about 10 yards of fabric from a retailer that sold Rowe furniture. We ordered the additional fabric through them directly from Rowe furniture. That was several years ago. Recently, the dog ate part of the sofa. The furniture sat in the living room and has hardly been used and therefore is like brand new. We also invested a substantial amount of money having valances made for our dining chairs recovered in this fabric. The fabric has been discontinued and so I contact Rowe furniture directly to see if they could help. They no longer have stock and are unable to get any more. They would not release the name of the manufacturer or mill where the fabric came from. They suggested I try on-line to see if anyone can help. The fabric identification is V3811-77 and it is a damask or jacquard type fabric, with a light gold background and cranberry coloured flowers. The fabric also have some deep gold, copper and dark green in it. I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide. Thank you.

Q. Hi, my living room is round. It has a Italian marble fireplace. It is one of those that has a turret on the outside. I am looking for furniture that is not bulky. Some low oriental chairs would be nice or even a sofa size oriental looking chair. There is not much room to put too much furniture.. that is why delicate looking furniture would be awesome. Q. I am looking to replace 2 low profile upholstered swivel chairs made by Norwalk in the 1990s. They are petite club chairs, not tub (barrel) style, and the most important feature is that the frame height is only 30 inches. I could possibly go as high as 32 inches, but any higher and the remote control will not work. I found the Hickory Chair Joseanne, but they were not able to skirt that for me. Q. I am looking for a sofa/ or sectional to go in our living room. We need it to be a height of 30"or so to fit under windows. Q. I am looking for an oval dining room table to use in my island home in Sanibel FL. I don't want it to be too formal for this casual location. Q. I am building a new home in SC. Before I moved from PA., I had just purchased a brown leather sofa and matching chair. I want to keep this leather set for my Grand Room but I want to decorate with the coastal theme, different from the look I had in PA. Q. Hello, We have 2 windows - sills are 27" above floor - windows 42" apart - in our family room. We would like more seating in the room & wonder what to put in front of those windows? Our "style" is country, civil war gun & pictures, etc. On the opposite wall is a couch, dry sink, & easy chair. Your thoughts on what type of seating to put in front of windows? Thank you.
A. With the room and style information you provided, here are a couple of suggestions/options to consider. 1. place a chair in front of each window with a table inbetween them. An ottoman for one or both chairs could provide additional seating in a pinch and could be set off to the side when not in use. 2. place a bench (with or without a back, wooden or upholstered) or a small loveseat and center in the space you are working with. Accent (the sides of the furniture) with a small table (with or without a lamp), floor lamp, a plant (real or fake) or some type of rustic piece that you may have. Rustic seating may be a great option for the space you have. Q. I purchased a Henredon sofa with beautiful fabric that's discontinued. It was supposed to be crated & shipped but the UPS shipper didn't do that; put it on a pallet & it legs broken off & frame broken. I save the cushions. It was new & unused. Would it be possible to match the cushions to a solid to make a 2 tone effect piece or do you know of an artisan that could repair the sofa??? It's been heartbreaking as I loved the fabric.

Q. I'm trying to decide between a 44" or 48" round table. My dining room is 11' x 11'. I've used your room planner but just can't decide between the two sizes. Is it possible to send you the pdf attachments so you can give me your opinion. I need to purchase a table, 4 chairs, 2 bar chairs, and a sideboard.
A. When determining what size dining table to use in a room, remember to allow 2 feet on each side of (or around) the table to pull out the chairs. A 48" round table will fit fine in this case, plus you will have space for a sideboard. Thank you for contacting us and have fun with your project!

If purchases are ordered, most stores require a deposit of one-third to one-half the total purchase price at the time an order is placed.
